Absolute top notch in everything they did. The prime rib. The charcuterie board. The ambience. Excellent.
This place is incredible, the food, drinks, ambience....a must! And the owner Gannon is so friendly!! The 8 oz filet with lobster but, the bread pudding....the best we have had!!
Don't let the fact this restaurant is inside a Courtyard Hotel fool you. It has nothing to do with Courtyard and this is one of the best dining experiences we have had in years...and we live in San Francisco where there is no shortage of great restaurants. Our server was Bennett...who is a tru professional in every sense and stays connected to your table even though he is working several other tables at same time. Bennett sees everything in a non-obtrusive way, like timing your courses based on your pace...and his descriptions of the food were spot on! The rest of the Gannons service team is all very connected while working the room. Quite impressive! The food and cocktails were all excellent. My wife had the empanada and I had the double pork chop. The arugula and roasted butternut squash was amazing as well. Wish Gannons and Bennett could relocate to San Francisco!
My husband and I went for the 1st time on our anniversary. The service and food were excellent, we received complimentary champagne for the occasion. The lobster bisque was exceptionally great and the steaks are very good. The place was very classy and had live music going, very soft smooth jazz type which was great because you can still have a conversation. They have valet parking. My only suggestion would be to have white table clothes to truly classy it up big time but I totally understand why they don't from a business point of view.
The food was spot on. Had the NY Strip and the the Brussel sprouts. Service was perfect. They were everywhere and nowhere at same time. Didn't notice them around yet when needed they were standing at your table. 5 stars . Well done Gannons!
I was in Nashville for a week for business. I had lunch and dinner out every day. Mostly nothing to write home about. But. Then I ate at Gannons. It's right in the super touristy district, which is usually a warning, it's in a Courtyard Marriott, not the pinnacle of hotels. But when you get there it's an old converted bank building and it's beautiful. It FEELS like a steakhouse should feel. We got the Prime Rib. It is my own personal best dish that I cook. It has been a rare occasion that a restaurant does it better than I do at home after 30 years of holidays for my family. But this place has me beat. We got the two bone pork chop. It's enough to feed two grown men with some meat on the bones for your dog! The boudin it's served on should be a dish by itself. The ceviche was wonderful, the oysters were plump and the cocktails were strong. I talked it up so much at my business meeting the next day that a few of my colleagues went the night after. They reported the same thing! The tourist areas is a S show. But it's worth navigating the circus.
First time coming here. My husband wanted to try a new restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Valet was a bit pricey; however, my husband was able to find street parking near the restaurant that's was inexpensive and a very short walk (he dropped me off at the restaurant so I didn't have to walk ;) ). It's not a large restaurant but the vibe was very demure, very classy (iykyk). Our waiter Max was great, my husband is vegan so he made sure he was accommodated. I ordered the Oyster Rockefeller, which was one of the best I have ever had, very delish. My entree I had the prime rib. It was a little more fatty than I like but it was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered mushrooms and they gave him a choice bt a tomato base pasta or olive oil. He chose the olive oil and it was packed with yummy veggies and artichokes. He really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend and I can't wait to come back!
Ambiance is great here, especially if you're looking for that speakeasy, Great Gatsby vibe. Loved that they had a local jazz ensemble playing piano, base and drums, it really added to the whole atmosphere. Our server Chelsea was great, very timely and quick. The manager of the house looked me up and down as to say I wasn't dressed nice enough even though I was in business casual and he only seemed to concern himself with larger "higher spend" tables. I watched him greet a few tables and ask how their experience was going but never once did he do that with us. The food is good, but really only had one thing to write home about and it was the duck confit empanadas. They were huge, stuffed with duck confit and had an amazing flavor to them. Otherwise, we spent $14 on a lobster bisque that had no real pieces of lobster in it and a lack of sherry flavor, a $58 filet that was your typical steak. The Bogart cocktail was very good and with the $15 and the white Malbec was a new find for me and I loved it. The charcuterie was really big and had eight different cheeses and four different meats to try which was great. All in all, it was good, their menu is attempting to live up to their atmosphere which I think it falls a bit short of, but it's not terrible. House manager needs to work on being more welcoming to everyone.
